Continued COVID-19 Protocols & Care - Fall 2020 | Heathwood Assisted Living & Memory Care

Residents are safe and engaged

The COVID-10 pandemic in 2020 brought many changes for residents and staff in assisted living residences. The residents and families at Heathwood appreciate the dedication and commitment the staff at Heathwood displayed during the difficult time.

With our long-standing tradition of taking care of our community’s elderly ( since1978! ), HeathwoodAssisted Living and Memory Care takes pride in the clean, safe, enjoyable senior community atmosphere we provide every day. With privilege, we invite you to see How Heathwood Does Assisted Living .

We Keep It Clean

Our Penfield and Williamsville communities are diligently cleaned and sanitized in accordance with the latest CDC and NYS guidelines, both in private apartments and common areas. The added protection of electrostatic sprayers to disinfect and keep clean frequently touched areas is a mainstay of our multi-level precautions against COVID-19.

We Keep It Safe

In a time where simple trips out aren’t so simple anymore, a move to Heathwood can bring peace of mind to yourself . Our residents are served three meals each day in a dining room with monitored, socially distanced seating. Additionally, trained staff are ever-present to give helpful reminders to your loved one to practice good hand hygiene by washing hands, using hand sanitizer, and wearing masks in common areas.

Our attentive nursing staff is available 24/7 to provide support for medication management and daily care needs. When residents take advantage of our on-site doctor’s appointments they are seen by doctors and nurse practitioners specializing in gerontology. In addition, all staff wear face masks, undergo daily screening prior to beginning work, and receive frequent COVID-19 testing.

We Keep It Enjoyable

Now that we’ve taken the guess work out of how to keep residents safe and healthy in pandemic times, come join the fun! Instead of spending the upcoming winter months fretting about how to keep up the house or how to get out to see the doctor in inclement weather, our residents spend their time enjoying their new neighbors at Heathwood Assisted Living and Memory Care. Everyone is busy with a multitude of daily activities and fun from which to choose—exercise classes, music programs, cooking demonstrations, you name it! Our Wellness Directors are creative entertainment experts, and boredom is not in their vocabulary! Check out our Facebook pages to see what our communities ( Williamsville , Penfield ) are up to.

Thank you for taking time to visit our site and to see How Heathwood Does Assisted Living. We hope you’ll join us!
