Welcome to Heathwood Assisted Living, where your loved one can receive additional medical benefits in a warm and friendly environment. Our nursing staff and aides are trained to monitor residents' health status and detect any changes promptly. This enables us to provide early detection of developing health concerns, allowing us to treat residents on-site in their home rather than sending them to the hospital. Our staff can manage a variety of medical needs, either under our enhanced level of care services and/or with the assistance of our contracted home care agencies. 

• Diabetic Monitoring - Our team ensures residents are kept on a regular medication schedule including finger sticks, so they receive their medications in a timely manner and don't run the risk of mission a dose - especially important in cases of oral diabetic medications.  Nurses can also administer insulin injections as needed. 

• Oxygen Management - For residents who require oxygen, either by concentrator or tanks we can monitor their oxygen needs. Additionally, nurses can order new supplies when necessary.

• Transfer Assistance - For residents who need help getting in or out of bed or a chair, our staff can provide one to two persons transfer assistance . Nursing staff can also be trained based on specific resident needs if a transfer belt is required.

• Incontinence Assistance - For residents who are urinary incontinent, we offer daily toileting schedules to reduce the risk of accidents.

• Catheter Care - Our nursing staff can assist residents who require a catheter with managing and emptying bags. In addition, nurses can arrange for irrigation and catheter services to be completed in-house on an ongoing basis.

• Ostomy Care - Our nursing staff can assist residents who require an ostomy with changing the pouching system regularly to avoid leaks and skin irritation. In addition, nurses can arrange for ostomy services to be completed in-house on an ongoing basis.

• Primary Care MD's and NP's - We have doctors and nurse practitioners who specialize in caring for the elderly and offer on-site primary care appointments. We also provide on-site podiatry services and dentistry (at Williamsville).

• Radiology and Lab Services - We offer a variety of on-site imaging and lab services to meet individual needs, including ultrasound, cardiac studies, vascular imaging, x-ray studies, and bone densitometry. Laboratory services test and process blood locally, allowing for fast, same-day results.

• 24/7 Nursing - Our nurses and aides are present 24/7 to tend to residents' needs, including proper medication management, toileting, bathing, and more. This ensures that residents and their families can rest assured we can help them age in place with dignity and compassion.

• Physical Therapy - We partner with skilled physical therapists to offer comprehensive onsite physical therapy services to improve mobility and treat a wide range of conditions .

• Occupational Therapy - We are proud to work with professional occupational therapists who are focused on improving our seniors' ability to perform daily living skills and fostering independence.
